Flamenco, Spanish Folk Dance, Turkish Romani, & More

Join Nadiyah as she covers a different topic each month.  No dance experience necessary.

Where:  Satori Dance Studio, 122 N. Monroe St., Spokane, WA  (North of the Spaghetti Factory)
Price: $40/ month or $15/ class

Intro to Castanets:
Monday, March 27, 5:00-6:00 pm

Participants will learn finger positions, the castanet language, and combinations.

Mondays, April 3-24, 5:00 – 6:00 pm

Participants will learn a choreography to a Tahitian Dance.  All dance levels are welcome.  Please bring a sarong.

Khaliji & Kalwiya
Mondays, May 8-29, 5:00 – 6:00 pm

Participants will learn elements of both dance forms and a choreography.  All dance levels are welcome

Turkish Roman
Mondays, June 5-26, 5:00-6:00 pm

Participants will learn Turkish Roman technique and a choreography. All levels are welcome. Bring a fringed rectangular or triangle hip scarf.

Mondays, August 7-28, 5:00-6:00 pm

Participants will learn Sevillanas, the folkdance that is often included in a Flamenco show.

Mondays, September 11 – October 3, 5:00-6:00 pm

Participants will learn a Bollywood choreography that includes movements and gestures from Classical Indian Dance.

Tango for Belly Dancers:  TBD

Participants will learn the art of Open-Embrace Tango with guest instructors, Victor of Satori Dance Studio, and David Parker.  Men and non-belly dancers are most welcome to join us.
